Hello everyone! Nancy here, along with Meghann, for the Scraptastic Thursday Challenge! Do you use b&w (black and white) photos on your pages? There is something about the extreme contrast of b&w photos that really adds a bit of dramatic flair, don't you think? Personally, I love using my photos "as-is", and I try share the moment in all it's living color! So I often miss out on the impact that b&w photos can have on a page. Truth be told, I typically only use b&w photos because I don't have any products to match my color photos! Yup, I'm guilty of that...

Hi everyone! Nancy Burke here to show you a fun and easy way to use the transparent embellishments that are sometimes included in the kits. In the October 2014 "This Life Noted" kit, there are several sizes of these fabulous transparent stars. Although I love them "as-is", I wanted to alter them slightly so that they would "POP" a little more, rather than get lost on my page. Afterall, they ARE transparent! Wow, did I ever have fun with my This Life Noted pocket pages this week!  First of all, I was pleased with how easy it was to use the Print and Cut feature of my Silhouette to cut around the printables included with the kit.  I am not very technically inclined, so that was a happy little surprise for me!  Secondly, I decided to use my pocket page to document a recent weekend spent at our good friends' cottage, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out!  I usually do one pocketed page per month, and I...

Hi there! Nancy Burke here with you on this lovely, Saturday! I don't know about you, but I always seem to end up with LOTS of little strips of scrap patterned paper left over from my pages and projects. I always want to toss those little strips, but I thought to myself "Why not use them"? So here is an easy way to use those strips up so they are not wasted!  For my page, I used random strips from the October 2014 "Heart it Races" main kit and add-on. I notched the ends of the strips for a bit...

Happy Sunday morning, everyone! I am excited to share another project I made with the September "The Girl" kit!   I loved that piece of pattern paper with the starburst on it and really wanted to highlight it on my layout! First I trimmed it down slightly and adhered to pink card stock. I then used my sewing machine to stitch the lines of the starburst in white thread. Then I used up almost the whole pack of Studio Calico sequins in the kit and glued them all down in alternating colors! This was the most time-consuming part of the...
