January Layouts using the Chasing Pavements Kit

January 2013 kits Melanie Stanczyk Mister Huey

 Hello again!

I have 2 posts for you this week. You'll notice these layouts are in the same color group as the color challenge I put together on the blog post 2 days ago.

I was lucky enough to use the January Chasing Pavements Main Kit and Add-on Kit. I just love the colors. I always enjoy blues and greens!

Here's the Story...of Skipping Stones

This is my favorite layout this month. I really like how easy it came together. I used the envelop as a photo mat but also put in some of the extra pieces of the Studio Calico Wood Veneer Alpha's and topped it off with some buttons and twine to embellish it. I also used my Silhouette for the title and used both colors of mists included in the main kit and add-on. I think it's fun to dab a little here and a little there.

I did have to laugh with the wood veneer alpha's. I felt like had a bowl of chicken alphabet soup that dumped everywhere and I had to pick it up piece by piece. Those little letters are very cool. Beware though, they are tiny...I had to use tweezers to dip them in glue and attach to the page. I felt like I was playing that game called Operation. Anyone remember that game?

My Life @ age 1

This is my brother, his wife Kristine and my cutest nephew in the world Almerik.  This summer he celebrated his first birthday! I'm starting to put together an album about him (for me!). I had the other envelope left and I wanted to use it on this layout because of the fun green color on it. I cut in half and used it on the photos on the right side.

This layout is inspired from a sketch made by Heather our sketch artiest! My daughter is in the white t-shirt with the black vest. These pictures were from her 6th grade graduation from elementary school with 2 of her "besties" as she calls them. I learned from her you don't 1 best friend you have many besties.

Just a reminder be sure to join us this month for our color challenge I put together for you 2 days ago on the blog.

Have fun scrappin'!!!!

Cute photos, great colors, but what makes these special is the details: splatter painting, glassine closure; stacked stickers, buttons tied with twine; labels made into a banner. Lots of fun to look at!
