I've been writing something I'm grateful for on my Facebook wall every day in November, and it's really helped me see how blessed I am this year. We've had our tough times, but the good definitely outweighs the bad. It's so easy to get caught up in the negative. I've also really enjoyed the "thankful" prompt here on the blog this week because it's challenged me to think about everyday things that make me feel grateful.
I am so thankful for the ability to teach our traditions to my children, and this layout is all about one I've passed down. I used my Scraptastic Club Farmer's Market kit and add on to create this page about my daughter touching plants to make their leaves curl closed. It's something I used to do as a little girl at my grandparents' house and it was so neat to show her the same thing. Generations have been amazed by those little quirky plants. (My design was inspired by a fantastic PageMaps sketch from Becky Fleck.)
I am very blessed to be a part of the Scraptastic Club design team. I've been with Jessica since 2010 and it's almost 2013. Where did the time go? I'm loving the new adventure of designing exclusive stamps for the kits. It's something I wouldn't have thought of pursuing on my own, but when Jessica approached me a spark was lit!
Again, I used the Farmer's Market November 2012 kit, add on, and stamp add on to make this card. It helped me use the last of my scraps from my kit. (This card was inspired by yet another amazing PageMaps sketch.)
Last but not least, I am genuinely grateful for this hobby. It's helped me meet so many new people and scrapbooking has developed into more than a hobby. It's a real creative outlet for me.
I used my Scraptastic Club kit and add on called "When Skies Are Grey" to make this layout. I found this photo of Alexis when she lost her first tooth and it made me remember how freaked out I was the first time I had to help her pull one. I thought it was gross and she agreed with me. (This page is based on a PageMaps sketch by Becky Fleck too. I'm sensing a theme here!)
I hope you all had a very Happy Thanksgiving full of family and happiness.
