1st November Challenge: SUNBURST

12X12 layout Blue Skies LG Belarmino November 2012 Challenge October 2012 Kits

November already? WOW!!! I do hope that everybody had an amazing Halloween.

For our 1st challenge this month, we will concentrate and emphasize on trends. We all know that sunburst design is a huge trend in scrapbooking for the past few months. We see pages upon pages of using this technique in different ways. Some add stitching, some use mists, and some uses diecuts to achieve this look.

Whatever technique is used to create a sunburst effect, it always add dimension to a page. So the challenge today is for you to create a layout or a card with a sunburst on it. But WAIT!!! There is a twist that I want you to add. The sunburst should be made with overlapping layers of papers. Layers is also a huge trend lately and this is the November theme of our blog and we would like you to incorporate layering on your sunburst.

Here is my example:

For my layout, I have used the cool Blue Skies kit. All of the patterned papers here are actually scrap leftover from the kit. I was able to use all the small pieces for all those tiny circles. Even the sunburst was made using strips that were left after creating 3 layouts. I made the white sunburst as my main piece then by simply adding strips of patterned paper at the back and in front, the layering effect was perfect.

If you are up for the challenge, you have until December 5th at midnight to complete your entry for the November Challenges. Make sure to link it to the inlinkz tool. Enjoy! I can't wait to see your creation!

Thanks for dropping by!

Yikes! That first picture just about hypnotized me! When I snapped out of it, I moved on to enjoy your lovely LO. I like the sunbursts, and I love all the tiny confetti.
