Hello everyone! It's Heather, your resident sketchologist. I've come back to share the latest challenge sketch with you. You can see it below. I was inspired to create the sketch when I saw the huge sheet of die cut banners that came with the fabulous Barn Door kit. I made it my personal goal to use every one of those banners on one page!
This is the layout that I created. My son had just gotten his new big boy bed, and he wasn't very sleepy at all. He was too excited about the new bed. Every time I checked on him, he was awake and grinning. My silly boy!
I used foam dots to make the banners more dimensional. Each set of layers is popped up at a different level. I also tied a little twine bow around one of the wood veneer arrows, and I used pop dots to make it more dimensional as well.
The title on this page was inspired by the book "Goodnight Moon". I decided to change it to Goodnight Son because by 11:00 I was definitely wishing he would go to sleep. I also thought that the big circle formed by the banners looked a bit like the moon as well.
I have a special treat for you today! I've started to ask the other girls on the design team to participate in my sketch posts if they have time. I figure we can all use a little extra inspiration. Right? Pam stepped up to the plate BIG time with this amazing page. I love how she used the square journaling, but made it smaller. It really does a wonderful job drawing my eye right into the super photo. She kept some of the banners as well. I just love her interpretation and I hope you do too. Thank you Pam!
If you would like to participate in this week's challenge, all you have to do is make a page that was inspired by the sketch above. You have until midnight on September 5, 2012 to submit your entries for the August 2012 Blog Challenges. This month's prize will be $20.00 to spend in the Scraptastic Club store!!!
