4th May 2012 Challenge

Heather Landry May 2012 Challenge Weathered Spring

Hi everyone! It's time for the 4th May Challenge. It's another super simple sketch challenge. I'd like you to use the sketch below as inspiration for your layout, and the twist is that you must use one scalloped shape somewhere on your page! I've used a scalloped border piece, and a scalloped doily sticker on mine. I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

I'm going to share the page that inspired this sketch and the detailed shots just to give you a little more inspiration. I created this page with the Weathered Spring kit, add on, and stamp add on. I went completely stamp happy on this layout. It's been a goal of mine to stamp more, and when Jessica came out with the stamp add ons I got really happy! This page is all about my sweet nephew's love of our baby swing in the backyard. I didn't think he was ever going to want to get out.

As you can see in the photo below, I combined two of the alphas from the kit and add on to make my title a little more interesting. I added little dots of the Perfect Pearls to create a little bit of shimmer. I also layered a sticker, die cut star, a little stamped piece that I cut out, and a gem to make a fun embellishment cluster.

I didn't forget to journal. You all know how important that is to me! Here's a closer look at what I had to say. You can also get a peek at the scalloped doily and the chipboard button that I used in this photo.

Last but not least, I made the kite embellishment by stamping on several sheets of paper. I cut individual pieces out and layered them to create this effect. I added a bit of twine and stamped some bows as well. I finished the embellishment by adding more Perfect Pearls to form the kite's cross bars.

That's it! Good luck in the challenge. Don't forget that you have until June 6th at midnight to submit your entries to all of the May 2012 challenges. The prize this month is a $20.00 gift card to the Scraptastic Club store!

Another great sketch, Heather! I’ve had so little opportunity to scrap this month, and I’m itching to get going on the rest of the challenges! Wonderful details on your LO — I love seeing all the ways you used stamps
